Biography

Sherry Saterstrom’s movement/dance background is rich and varied beginning with growing up on a farm, running and flipping through elementary school, and performing just for fun. Pursuing a master degree in dance was just serendipitous, but also the birth of a love affair with teaching and sharing her passion for things physical with people of all ages. She has danced away the years in elementary, junior high and high schools across the Midwest as a solo artist and with her company Dance Co’Motion. Since 1984 Sherry has concentrated her work in the area of body-mind studies as they relate to dance/movement and the process of learning. She is a certified Body-Mind Centering practitioner and includes Laban/Bartenieff, Todd/Sweigard, Zen meditation, Tai Chi, Authentic Movement, and Yoga in her movement practice. Sherry is currently exploring issues of embodiment, their connection to intuitive learning, and their influence in movement and dance improvisation.
